Lawyers 'assaulted': HC asks Lucknow police commissioner, district judge to file reports

Allahabad High Court directed Lucknow police commissioner and district judge to submit detailed reports by 10:15 am on Wednesday.

Three Delhi-based lawyers (Abhipsa Mohanty, Komal Agrawal, Ashutosh Srivastava) and their client Mohammad Shakir allegedly assaulted in Lucknow district court.

The lawyers were prevented from appearing before a courtroom, assaulted, abused, and threatened by advocate Saurabh Kumar Verma and associates.

The client Shakir was severely beaten and sustained bleeding injuries; the lawyers took shelter in a judge's chamber.

The court observed the incident, if true, constitutes grave interference with the administration of justice.
