Woman on test drive presses accelerator instead of clutch, hits pedestrian in Bengaluru

A woman on a test drive of a Maruti Swift Dzire in KR Pura, Bengaluru pressed the accelerator instead of the clutch, hitting a pedestrian and then an electric pole.

The driver, Supriya, was alone and had obtained the keys from a used car showroom near her house in Singaianapalya.

The injured pedestrian, Shantamma, filed a complaint accusing Supriya of rash and negligent driving.

The incident occurred around 5:30 pm when Supriya, after driving about 100 meters, bent her head, then panicked and pressed the accelerator instead of the clutch while trying to slow down.
