IMD forecasts heavy rain in several parts of Jharkhand till August 6

  1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) across Jharkhand from August 3 to 6.

  2. A 'yellow' alert has been issued for isolated thunderstorms and lightning in all 24 districts of Jharkhand for the next four days.

  3. On Tuesday, heavy rainfall is expected in northwestern districts (Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar) and central districts (Hazaribag, Koderma, Ramgarh, Bokaro).

  4. On Wednesday, five northeastern districts (Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, Sahibganj) and three southeastern districts (West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan) are likely to see heavy rain.

  5. Hazaribag recorded the highest rainfall (43.2 mm) in the last 24 hours, while Seraikela-Kharsawan recorded the highest maximum temperature (36.2°C).
