US lawmakers meet Pak Army chief Munir amid warming ties under Trump

US Congressmen Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner met Pakistan's Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The meeting discussed regional security, bilateral defence cooperation, and economic collaboration amid warming US-Pakistan ties under President Donald Trump.

Munir highlighted Pakistan's economic potential and structural reforms to attract foreign investment.

The US lawmakers expressed commitment to promoting deeper economic, commercial, and institutional linkages between the two countries.

The visit follows Pakistan's mediation between the US and Iran after hostilities earlier this year.
