Memphis pizzeria owner refuses service to National Guardsmen

Miles Tamboli, owner of Tamboli's Pasta & Pizza in Memphis, refused service to four uniformed members of the Tennessee National Guard.

Tamboli called his refusal an 'act of patriotism and conscience' and remained defiant despite backlash.

The restaurant shut down its phones after personal contact info was circulated online; Tamboli said the controversy hurt business and raised safety concerns.

Tamboli is a Memphis-based entrepreneur and agricultural educator who owns Tamboli Produce Co. since 2018 and serves as Director of Farm Operations at Girls Inc. of Memphis.

Tamboli earned a Bachelor of Science in Global and Community Health from Tulane University and studied International Development and Global Health.
