K’taka invites TN CM for aerial survey of Cauvery reservoir

Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar invited Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay for an aerial survey of the Cauvery basin.

Shivakumar offered a helicopter for the survey before or after bilateral talks proposed for Aug 3.

Karnataka is challenging a CWRC directive to release 3,500 cusecs of water daily to Tamil Nadu for 15 days.

The CWMA will consider Karnataka's objections; Karnataka hopes for relief on Thursday.

Deputy CM G Parameshwara said Karnataka released more than its allocated share in previous years but now struggles to secure drinking water.
