HC restores child’s custody to mother, grants father supervised visitation

The Bombay High Court restored custody of a nine-year-old boy to his mother, citing risk of the father taking the child to Nepal.

The mother alleged the father deceitfully took the child from her residence on April 26, 2026, while she was at work.

The father had threatened that even the entire Indian police force could not find him, per a transcript of a phone call.

Police traced the father to a village in Uttar Pradesh near the Nepal border, supporting the mother’s fears.

The court granted the father supervised visitation and ordered police protection for the child’s return to the mother.
