PMC to launch drive to recover ₹35 crore pending rent from civic properties

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will start a drive to recover ₹35.44 crore in pending rent from civic property tenants.

PMC Standing Committee chairman Shrinath Bhimale ordered final notices to defaulters within 30 days and legal proceedings with penalties.

PMC owns 1,932 residential units, 263 buildings, and 1,552 open plots; 2,407 properties have rent arrears.

Largest dues are from leased open plots, followed by residential units and buildings.

Bhimale also ordered a digital audit of municipal properties and reassessment of lease agreements at market rates.
