Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Lok Adarsh Chairman, 2 Others Arrested After 4 Months On The Run

Chairman Anis Syed Pathan, vice-chairman Syed Ejaj Abdul Gaffar, and secretary Shaikh Vikhar Ahmed of Lok Adarsh Urban Cooperative Society were arrested after four months on the run.

They are accused of embezzling ₹5.16 crore from the society, which has nearly 700 depositors, between April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2025.

The accused carried out unauthorised transactions through Lok Adarsh Nidhi without approval, misappropriating ₹1.28 crore, and opened unauthorised branches causing ₹18.75 lakh in irregularities.

They allegedly obtained loans using forged documents, causing a ₹60.43 lakh loss, and the chairman, vice-chairman, and secretary drew unauthorized salaries.
