SC gives Rs 15L to kin of man killed by stray bull

The Supreme Court awarded ₹15 lakh compensation to the family of a man killed by a stray bull in Punjab in 2007.

A bench of Justices Sanjay Karol and N K Singh directed all states to frame rules for compensating victims of bovine-related accidents, both pedestrian and vehicular.

The court also directed governments to care for strays and take action against owners who abandon animals on streets and highways.
