IIT Delhi innovations earn top honours at Sanrachna 2026 technical textiles hackathon

Three IIT Delhi research innovations were selected among the top three ideas at the Sanrachna 2026 Product Development and Design Hackathon, organised under the National Technical Textiles Mission.

BacCelAero, a sustainable bacterial cellulose aerogel for diabetic wound care and emergency haemorrhage management, was developed by Dr. Ankita Sharma.

An ultra-lightweight aerogel-based sleeping bag and mattress system for extreme cold environments was developed by PhD scholars Sudipto Behera and Sukriti Baliyan.

KISAN-SHIELD, a multifunctional protective textile for Indian farmers, was developed by MTech graduate Sambhaskar Singh to protect against heat stress, UV radiation, rain, and humidity.
