PCMC begins ₹10 lakh compensation disbursal to families of Moshi tragedy victims

PCMC has begun disbursing ₹10 lakh ex gratia compensation to families of the nine victims of the July 8 Moshi garbage depot accident.

Compensation has already been credited to the legal heirs of four victims: Sunny Mane, Rahul Gaikwad, Vaman Kasbe, and Akshay Sawant.

The amounts were distributed according to legal entitlement: Mane's compensation shared between wife and mother; Gaikwad's among wife, mother, and father; Kasbe's wife received the full amount.

Verification of documents for the remaining five families (Bhavesh Wani, Sunil Korke, Mahesh Kumbhar, Nagesh Gaikwad, Ranjeet Patil) is in the final stage.

Municipal Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi said payments are transferred directly to beneficiaries after document verification, with remaining payments to follow soon.
