NEET SS counselling stalemate enters fifth month; FAIMA urges Supreme Court, Centre to fast-track admissions

NEET SS counselling has been stalled for nearly five months due to litigation over Tamil Nadu's in-service quota.

The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has urged the Supreme Court, Union Health Ministry, and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to fast-track admissions.

The delay has left thousands of qualified doctors without training opportunities and worsened specialist shortages in hospitals across India.

FAIMA warned that the prolonged pause is disrupting doctors' careers and jeopardising the current academic session.

FAIMA requested the Supreme Court to accord top priority to the pending matter to resume counselling.
