Investor-friendly ecosystem helped state attract ₹1.78L cr, says Mann

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone of Vardhman Special Steels' ₹1,116 crore forging and machining unit with Japan's Aichi Steel in Ludhiana.

The unit manufactures high-value automobile components for domestic and international markets using advanced Japanese forging technology.

Punjab’s Industrial and Business Development Policy, 2026, supported by 24 sectoral policies, offers single-window clearance via Invest Punjab.

The project is expected to create direct employment for over 500 youth, with potential for 2,000 more jobs from future expansion.

The investment was enhanced from an initial ₹500 crore to ₹1,116 crore, reflecting confidence from Aichi Steel, a Toyota Group supplier.
