Shubman Gill lifts lid on India's 2027 World Cup blueprint after England triumph

Shubman Gill said India is trying different batting and bowling combinations with the 2027 World Cup in mind.

India successfully chased 259 against England, their first 250-plus chase since 2016 without Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli scoring a fifty.

Washington Sundar batted at No. 5, ahead of KL Rahul, scoring an unbeaten 52 off 63 balls.

The match was played on a pitch with conditions similar to those expected in South Africa for the 2027 World Cup.

Gill noted that India's bowling attack is young and the team opted to bowl first to test its chase ability.
