Skyline fire update: Oakland Hills area in California sees smoke; first details as scary visuals emerge

Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire near Skyline Boulevard and Joaquin Miller Road in Oakland Hills on Friday.

The Oakland Fire Department reported multiple burning trees, and a second alarm was requested by the incident commander.

More than 50 firefighters were deployed, with helicopters completing three water drops.

Forward progress was stopped, and crews continued extinguishing remaining flames and searching for hot spots.
