Nashik: Waste-to-CNG Plant Planned Ahead Of Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 To Boost Scientific Waste Management

Nashik Municipal Corporation plans a ‘Waste-to-CNG’ plant for Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027.

The plant will be set up on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis at a former composting plant site.

Mayor Himgauri Ahire-Adke announced the project to scientifically manage Kumbh Mela waste and waste from 16 surrounding villages.

Officials inspected a similar plant in Pune; the proposal will go to the General Body meeting for approval.

A third-party audit agency has been appointed to inspect road quality ahead of the Mela.
