Is Thinkorswim down? Traders report issues with Charles Schwab's app during market closing hours

Charles Schwab's Thinkorswim app suffered an outage on Thursday, July 16, 2026, affecting hundreds of users as U.S. markets closed.

The outage began around 3:52pm EDT and peaked at 4:07pm EDT with 705 reports on Down Detector, disrupting late-day trading.

Charles Schwab Corp issued an update stating clients could not log in to thinkorswim Web and Mobile, but desktop access was available via Thinkorswim Desktop, Schwab.com, or the Schwab Mobile app.

As many as 800 users reported issues with Thinkorswim at around 4pm EDT, according to Down Detector.
