Five GBA staffers attacked while clearing footpath on Commercial Street

Five Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) staffers were attacked while clearing encroachments from a footpath on Commercial Street in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

A female assistant engineer was targeted with pepper spray during the assault, and 10 people were arrested while two others were detained.

Bengaluru development minister Krishna Byre Gowda stated that attempt-to-murder charges will be pressed and instructed police to take strict action.

The anti-encroachment drive continued Tuesday, clearing footpaths in Shivaji Nagar despite the attack.
