Ravneet Singh Bittu resigned from the Union Council of Ministers as minister of state for railways and food processing industries.
President Droupadi Murmu accepted his resignation under Article 75(2) of the Constitution of India.
Bittu, a former Congress MP, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in March 2024 and was inducted as minister in June 2024 despite losing the Lok Sabha election from Ludhiana.
He is the grandson of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh and had served as Congress leader in Lok Sabha and whip.
