Ferran Torres only the second player to achieve this rare WC final feat

Spain substitute Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 106th minute of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final against Argentina.

Torres became the second substitute to score a World Cup final winner, matching Germany's Mario Götze from the 2014 final.

Spain defeated defending champions Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win their second FIFA World Cup title.

Torres' goal was his first of the tournament and came from a left-footed shot off a header by Nico Williams.

Spain controlled possession and had 20 shots in the match, with Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez keeping them scoreless until extra time.
