Private engineering colleges surrender 10,000 seats to Karnataka Examinations Authority

Private engineering colleges in Bengaluru surrendered over 10,200 seats to Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) before the first round of counselling.

colleges gave up management seats they expected would not find takers, adding them to the common pool for students.

KEA had encouraged colleges and private universities to surrender seats ahead of the first counselling round.

Out of 91,724 engineering seats, 90,748 were allotted, leaving only 976 seats vacant.

ComedK reported 37,691 students registered for counselling, indicating high demand for engineering admissions this year.
