The assault occurred at a school in Pedder Road, Mumbai; the accused hugged and kissed the victim backstage on July 29, 2022, and later sexually assaulted her in a male restroom on August 24, 2022.

The conviction relied solely on the victim's testimony, with the judge noting the accused's dominant position as a staff member in the educational institution.

The victim's mother discovered the abuse after finding her crying and seeing chat messages with the accused; she reported it to the school principal and police.
