India screens nearly 11,000 travellers after Ebola emergency, no case detected

India has screened 10,974 international travellers from Ebola-affected countries since May 23, 2026, following the WHO's PHEIC declaration for the Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak.

No Ebola cases have been detected in India so far, according to the Centre informed Parliament.

Enhanced screening is in place at airports and points of entry, with mandatory self-declaration forms including Air Suvidha 2.0 for passengers with travel history to DRC, Uganda, and South Sudan.

Mumbai screened the highest number of passengers (7,568), followed by Delhi (1,833), with Gujarat (2,905) as the top state.

Preparedness includes isolation facilities, expanded laboratory capacity via ICMR-NIV Pune and BSL-3 labs, mock drills, and coordination with NCDC, ICMR, DGHS, and Ministry of Civil Aviation.
