GST collections cross ₹2.11 lakh crore in July

India's gross GST collections in July 2026 crossed ₹2.11 lakh crore, a 15.4% year-on-year increase from ₹1,83,065 crore in July 2025.

Collections from domestic transactions rose 10.1% to ₹1,44,695 crore, while import-related collections jumped 28.8% to ₹66,511 crore.

Net GST collection after refunds stood at ₹1,81,237 crore in July 2026, up 15.8% from ₹1,56,570 crore in the same month last year.

Total refunds issued rose 13.1% to ₹29,968 crore from ₹26,495 crore a year earlier.

Experts attribute the rise to economic resilience and increased industrial production, but note concerns about high import GST collections reflecting a gap in domestic manufacturing capability.
