31 killed in first terror attack in Nigerian village, residents say army refused to respond

Terrorists killed 31 people and burned homes in Naridon, part of Kamaru village cluster, Kaduna State, Nigeria.

Attack occurred around 12 am with guns and machetes; eight children were among the victims.

Residents said it was the first such attack on the community and that the Nigerian Army refused to respond despite calls.

Police did not arrive until after the attack; the Kaduna State Police Command did not respond to requests for comment.

No group has claimed responsibility; violence by armed gangs and insurgent groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP remains a major security challenge.
