Navi Mumbai: NMMC Approves 20 Welfare Schemes For Women, Children, Students And Transgender Persons

  3. Other initiatives cover livelihood support for women with critical illnesses, transport for NMMC school students, financial aid to women's self-help groups, and skill development for women, transgender persons, and women seeking rehabilitation from sex work.

  4. The civic body also approved financial assistance for girls pursuing professional courses after Class XII, including medical, engineering, and management education.

  5. Mayor Sujata Patil directed expedited implementation, while Deputy Mayor Dasharath Bhagat proposed an evaluation committee to periodically assess scheme effectiveness.
