BMC General Body approved transfer of 11.58 acres of BEST's Dharavi and Kalakilla depots for the ₹96,000-crore Dharavi Redevelopment Project.
BEST Chairperson Trushna Vishwasrao said BEST owns 2.28 acres; DRP and Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt Ltd will plan employee facilities.
A temporary bus parking facility near 90-foot Road in Dharavi will maintain bus services during transition, but capacity gap exists (145 vs 288 buses needed).
Two modern multi-storey depots with combined capacity of 470 buses will be built, including commercial spaces.
