New Maharashtra State Launches 2026 Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver For 5.6M Families

Maharashtra government launched the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme 2026, with Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil releasing a representative list of 532 eligible beneficiaries from seven districts.
Scheme aims to waive farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh for approximately 5.6 million eligible farmer families to reduce financial burden and boost farmer confidence.
Eligibility criteria were revised via a Government Resolution on July 15, 2026; excluded categories include current and former elected representatives, government employees, income tax payers with non-agricultural income, and cooperative bank employees.
banks have uploaded farmer loan data to a MahaIT-developed portal; loan waiver amounts will be credited via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after Aadhaar authentication through nearly 32,000 Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendras.
Government aims to complete the process for District Central Cooperative Bank beneficiaries by July 31, 2026, before starting transfers for commercial bank beneficiaries.
