Govt orders upgrade of Babu, Chowk stadiums within 3 months

The Uttar Pradesh government ordered renovation of badminton hall and basketball court at KD Singh 'Babu' Stadium and construction of a gym and new basketball court at Chowk Stadium within three months.

₹1.85 crore was approved for renovating the badminton hall at KD Singh 'Babu' Stadium, covering civil repairs, electrical fittings, and plumbing.

₹6.17 crore was sanctioned for Chowk Stadium's renovation and construction, with a first instalment of ₹3.08 crore released.

Sports secretary Suhas LY chaired a review meeting with UP Samaj Kalyan Nirman Nigam Ltd. and warned against delay or laxity.

The upgrades aim to strengthen sports infrastructure and provide international-standard facilities.
