How to revive a PPF account after missing deposit

A PPF account requires a minimum deposit of Rs 500 per financial year to remain active.

If you miss the minimum deposit, the account is treated as discontinued, and no interest is credited for that period.

To reactivate a discontinued PPF account, pay the minimum Rs 500 along with a penalty of Rs 50 per year of default.

Once reactivated, the account resumes earning interest as per PPF rules.
