Char Dham Yatra suspended for two days as heavy rain, landslides hit routes

Char Dham Yatra to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri suspended for two days due to heavy rain and landslides blocking routes in Uttarakhand.

The Garhwal commissioner announced the suspension on July 28 and 29, with resumption only after weather improves and routes are declared safe.

IMD Dehradun Centre issued an orange alert for Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Nainital districts, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and flash flood risk.

Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority directed district administrations to remain on high alert and monitor vulnerable areas.
