Sanju Samson says he didn't believe Rohit Sharma's message on T20 World Cup struggles: ‘I wasn’t able to see…'

Sanju Samson was out of favour in the first half of the 2026 T20 World Cup but ended with 321 runs from five matches, winning Player of the Tournament.

Samson initially did not believe former India skipper Rohit Sharma's message that he would get his chance, saying he could not see what Rohit saw.

Samson struggled with recovery and mental state early in the tournament, taking four to five days to get back on track after the New Zealand series.

He scored 97*, 89, and 89 against West Indies, England (semi-final), and New Zealand (final) after turning his performance around.
