Jalgaon: Heavy Rain Triggers Floods; Hatnur Dam Opens 41 Gates, One Dead, One Missing

Heavy rain in Jalgaon has caused flooding, one death (Bapu Jadhav, 75), one missing (Samadhan Chudaman Bhil, 22), and three electrocution injuries.

Hatnur Dam on the Tapi River opened 41 gates, releasing 3.50 lakh cusecs of water due to inflows from Purna River and Madhya Pradesh.

Girna Dam reached 97% capacity, opening two gates to release 2,500 cusecs; Anjani Dam discharging 500 cusecs.

District administration issued flood alert for villages along the Tapi River, urging vigilance as river flows above danger levels.

Officials including District Collector Rohan Ghuge inspected Hatnur Dam and advised residents to follow advisories, avoid travel, and move livestock to safety.
