‘Indian psychic’ accused of $800,000 scam in Canada, flees country; cops on lookout

Toronto Police issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Gangadhar Babu, 29, accused of posing as a psychic and spiritual healer.

Babu allegedly defrauded a victim of more than $800,000 between April 2024 and September 2025.

The scheme involved claims of supernatural powers and threats of death or harm to the victim and family unless payments continued.

Babu operated under the business name 'Indian Psychic and Spiritual Healer' and has fled to India.

He is wanted for fraud over $5000, possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5000, and laundering proceeds of Canadian crime.
