The Delhi government plans a new solar policy to reduce rooftop installation cost to ₹15,000 for a 3 kW system.
The policy proposes upfront disbursal of the generation-based incentive (GBI) instead of over five years.
Current cost for a 3 kW system is about ₹2.25 lakh, with existing subsidy of ₹1.08 lakh from Centre and Delhi government.
Power minister Ashish Sood says the policy aims to eliminate financial barriers for households.
The draft policy is in final stages and likely to be placed before the cabinet after the monsoon session.
