On hockey, humility and lessons that last: Rahul Dravid inspires youngsters

Rahul Dravid, former India cricket captain and coach, played hockey as a midfielder at St. Joseph's Boys High School alongside Anil Aldrin and Sandeep Somesh.

Dravid recalled that playing with Aldrin and Somesh helped him realize he was better suited for cricket.

He praised the resurgence of Indian hockey after the men's team won back-to-back Olympic bronze medals in Paris and Tokyo.

Dravid spoke at the opening of an inter-college hockey tournament commemorating the platinum jubilee of St Joseph's College of Commerce (SJCC).

The two-day five-a-side tournament, organized by SJCC's Old Students' Association and Yes For Hockey, aims to revive collegiate hockey.
