Indian man posed as psychic, offered victim 'spiritual protection': Toronto Police issues warrant

Toronto Police issued a warrant for Indian national Gangadhar Babu, 29, for allegedly posing as a psychic and spiritual healer to defraud a victim.

Babu ran a business called Indian Psychic and Spiritual Healer, exploiting the victim's belief in the supernatural to claim they faced death or serious harm unless they paid for spiritual protection.

He is charged with fraud over $5,000, possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000, and laundering proceeds of Canadian crime.

Police believe Babu fled to India after the alleged fraud and suspect other victims may exist, urging them to come forward.
