A massive boulder crushed a Tata Sumo vehicle on the Udaipur-Killar road near Kaddu Nallah in Himachal Pradesh's Lahaul Spiti district.
The incident killed 13 people, including a six-month-old infant, all of whom were residents of Pangi Valley in Chamba district.
Deputy Commissioner Kiran Bhadana stated the vehicle was buried under debris following a landslide and rockfall on the Sansari Nala-Killar-Thirot-Tandi road.
Rescue operations were launched by police, local administration, and the Border Roads Organisation; victim identification is ongoing.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed the deputy commissioner to proceed to the site and supervise rescue efforts.
