Bharatmala Phase I Highway Network Expands Rapidly With 22,700 Km Completed; Rajasthan Among Top Performing States

India completed 22,709 km of highways under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase I, out of 26,425 km awarded, achieving nearly 86% execution.
Bharatmala Phase I, approved in 2017, aims to develop 34,800 km of national highways with an estimated investment of Rs 5.35 lakh crore.
Rajasthan completed 2,264 km out of 2,360 km awarded under Phase I, leaving only 96 km under construction.
Rajasthan received approvals for 508 km of highway projects worth Rs 9,222 crore during 2025-26.
