FSSAI suspends nutraceutical maker’s licence

FSSAI suspended Rehaan Healthcare's manufacturing licence after inspections found critical non-compliance and unhygienic conditions at its health supplement and nutraceutical manufacturing unit.
Inspectors found spider webs, mould growth, flies, insects, and exposed food waste; sediments of filth under manufacturing tanks; and disorganised raw material storage.
Rehaan Healthcare, based in Mohali and established in 2018, manufactures digestive syrups, multivitamin syrups, and other syrup-based food products, and offers third-party manufacturing.
The unit was given an overall compliance score of 12%; production is halted until deficiencies are rectified and verified by the competent authority.
FSSAI stated that because the unit makes high-risk health supplements consumed by children and vulnerable groups, the conditions pose a serious and imminent threat to public health.
