Greece wildfires scorch over 12,000 hectares as firefighters battle multiple blazes

Two separate fires on the Gulf of Corinth scorched over 6,500 hectares, with the Porto Germeno fire near Athens potentially classifiable as a megafire.

The fire swept through the coastal village of Porto Germeno, prompting evacuations, and local authorities report scores of homes damaged or destroyed.
