Student in Mumbai police van video speaks out
Harshavardhan Kadam, an 18-year-old student, spoke publicly for the first time about the viral video showing a Mumbai Police driver threatening protesters with false drug cases.
The driver, Pawan Sangle, allegedly warned detained students he would plant '50 grams of powder' in their pockets if they returned to protest.
Kadam said students initially laughed off the driver's remarks but noted such statements can harm mental health.
After the video went viral, some criticized Kadam for 'ruining the police driver's family's life' after the driver reportedly lost his job.
Mumbai Police ordered an inquiry into the incident following the video's circulation.
