EPFO official caught taking ₹2.5L bribe sent to 14-day judicial custody

EPFO enforcement officer Shubham Tyagi was arrested by the CBI for accepting a ₹2.5 lakh bribe.

A special CBI court in Chandigarh sent Tyagi to 14-day judicial custody on July 24, 2026.

The arrest followed a complaint by Harshit Jindal; Tyagi was caught red-handed at the Sector 17 EPFO office.

The CBI opposed bail citing risk of witness tampering and evidence destruction.
