30-year-old killed in hit-and-run in Panvel

Rigved Chetan Dhamankar, 30, was killed in a hit-and-run near Palaspe Bridge in Panvel on July 24, 2026.

A speeding dumper truck allegedly rammed Dhamankar's motorcycle from behind while he was taking a right turn beneath the bridge.

The truck's rear wheel ran over Dhamankar's head, causing fatal injuries; he died at the scene.

The driver fled without reporting the accident or providing medical assistance.

The incident occurred around 7:30am on the JNPT-Panvel service road.
