Armenia to buy India's Akash-NG missiles

Armenia, already an Akash customer, is reportedly looking at the upgraded Akash-NG missile system.

India's Akash system formed part of the multi-layered air-defence network during the May 2025 conflict, with performance described as 'stellar'.

Armenia is diversifying away from traditional Russian suppliers, and India has supplied it with Akash, Pinaka, and Swathi systems.

The Akash-NG is becoming a test of whether combat-proven Indian technology can win buyers across Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa, and beyond.
