Woman, her two daughters killed in fire in south Delhi flat; probe on

A 40-year-old woman and her two daughters, aged 8 and 12, died in a fire at a third-floor flat in BK Dutt Colony, south Delhi, on July 22, 2026.

The bodies were found inside the single-room flat; the husband Mohit Sharma and mother-in-law Sarita Sharma were on the second floor at the time.

Three fire tenders responded to the call at 10:21 am; the fire was controlled by 11:10 am.

Police said the cause is under investigation with no immediate evidence of foul play.

The woman had been undergoing treatment for a mental health condition since 2020, according to police.
