NCB busts ₹5 crore ephedrine racket in Mumbai and Kalyan, foils bid to smuggle drugs to New Zealand

NCB seized 10.99 kg of ephedrine worth ₹5 crore from Mumbai and Kalyan.

Ephedrine was concealed inside floor mats, cloth rolls, bedsheets, and photo frames in courier parcels.

The consignments were bound for New Zealand and suspected for illegal methamphetamine manufacture.

Alleged kingpin S Hameed was arrested from Triplicane, Chennai, and also linked to a prior shipment.

NCB foiled bids to smuggle the precursor to New Zealand via international courier.
