Jaaved Jaaferi played Manav in the 'Dhamaal' franchise, aiming for a childlike portrayal without being caricaturish.

He adjusted his voice by removing bass and adding a lisp, and adopted a slouched, floppy body language to make Manav seem physically weaker.

Jaaferi worked with the costume team on a dungarees look to give Manav a unique appearance.

Jaaferi's comic instincts were honed in advertising, including writing situations and dialogues for Maggi commercials directed by Prahlad Kakkar.
