Punjab Roadways contractual workers announce three-day strike from Aug 3

Punjab Roadways contractual workers will strike from August 3 to 5 over demands including regularisation of services.

Rallies will be held at all depots on July 27 before the state-wide strike.

Union president Resham Singh Gill said the AAP government failed to fulfil promises to regularise employees and abolish the contract system.

Union leaders claimed nearly 800 government buses are unserviceable and no new buses were added despite a plan to procure 696.

Workers also threatened a 'dharna' outside Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's residence if demands are not met.
